The President of the Occitanie Region was on a visit to the Halles market this Friday morning to meet with the population and elected officials.
Carole Delga’s morning visit took her to the gourmet market of Mèze on Friday morning. Meeting with residents, merchants, and also mayors from the area – some of whom are newly elected – the President of the Occitanie Region continues her extensive citizen tour “La Région à vos côtés.” The objective? “To show that elected officials do not stay in their offices, that they reach out to people to hear their feedback, get their opinions, and explain what the Region does,” Carole Delga stated, just minutes before beginning her visit to the markets in Mèze.
Mobility, health, culture, and more
Convinced, as she recalls, “that solutions are found among people,” the President of the Region takes the pulse of the region wherever she goes. “With young people, the question frequently pertains to mobility in the region, how to benefit from preferential rates that would help them in their daily lives. Another topic is business assistance. And not forgetting the recruitment policy for doctors.”
These are topics that also arise on the Thau basin, particularly concerning medical desertification. “It’s a concern across France,” Carole Delga notes. “How to get a doctor’s appointment? How to find a specialist consultation? This is a problem in all territories, regardless of region. Then there’s mobility: having trains run on time! And this Thau basin has a fairly strong cultural dynamic, with projects, ideas that residents share with me. I also appreciate receiving many thanks addressed to the Region, as we have maintained aid for culture.”
Another topic making headlines in the region is the Montpellier-Perpignan new line project. On this issue, Carole Delga emphasized her wish for “transparency” and her determination to “reassure” in the face of “misinformation.”
