At the same time a tragedy and a miracle. In the United States, a 5-year-old girl survived a serious car accident in which her two parents lost their lives. According to a police statement reported by People, the incident occurred on May 1st at around 6 am on a highway near Bayfield, Colorado.
For a reason still unknown, the family’s pickup suddenly veered off the road. It rolled several times before coming to a stop upside down below the road, as reported by the local newspaper The Coloradoan. Since it wasn’t visible from the roadway, the vehicle was only discovered the next day on May 2nd, around 12:30 pm.
Confided to her grandfather
When the rescuers arrived, the 24-year-old mother and 25-year-old father were already deceased. The girl, on the other hand, was only slightly injured. In total, she spent over 30 hours with the lifeless bodies of her parents. She was taken to the hospital and then entrusted to her grandfather, according to our colleagues.
The exact circumstances of this tragic accident are not yet known. Based on preliminary information, the two adults were not wearing seatbelts and the child did not have a car seat or booster seat. Investigators believe that neither speed nor alcohol were responsible for the accident, which only involved the family’s vehicle.
