Geneva’s Virginia Sirolli is participating in The Voice show on TF1, where she is coached by the French singer Amel Bent. Her rich and eclectic journey reflects an unwavering passion for music and the stage. The 26-year-old singer will defend her spot in the quarter-finals on Friday, May 15.
For Virginia Sirolli, The Voice show on the French channel TF1 represents more than just a competition: “When I was 13, 14 years old, I religiously watched The Voice with my parents. And then I wanted to be a singer. I always wanted to participate, it was a childhood dream,” she tells in the 12h30 show on May 7. At that time, the Geneva native auditioned for The Voice Kids without success. She then made a promise to herself: “work, come back, and break the house.”
Coming from a family of opera singers, Virginia Sirolli grew up in a classical musical environment. She acknowledges the influence of this heritage: “I was very lucky that my parents educated me in classical music.” However, her parents never forced her to sing, and it was dance that initially captured her heart.
London, Geneva, Paris…
About six years ago in London, Virginia found her true calling, combining her passions for dance and singing: musical theater. Fascinated by English culture and its prestigious schools, she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in this field. “At the heart of musical theater, there is a story. We sometimes forget that musical theater is not just about singing and dancing, but the theater is at the core,” she explains.
After her studies in London, Virginia Sirolli had the opportunity to lead the ‘Revue genevoise 2024’. Shortly after, she portrayed Nala in ‘The Lion King’ show at Disneyland Paris, a role she had always dreamed of playing. “Honestly, I went where the work led me,” she says with a laugh. Currently, she is also an understudy for the musical ‘Company’, which will be presented in Geneva at the Grand Théâtre in October 2026. At just 26 years old, Virginia Sirolli has the immense fortune of fully living her passion.
The Voice, a media springboard
If the Geneva singer makes a living from music, her participation in The Voice is a “very interesting media springboard,” allowing her to showcase herself as an artist without hiding behind a role. Her coach, the French singer Amel Bent, has even invited her to sing at Bercy and will perform a duet with her on June 5 at Forest National in Brussels.
For the future, Virginia Sirolli aspires to reconcile her two loves: musical theater and her solo projects. And she nurtures an ambitious dream, that of representing Switzerland at the Eurovision next year. In the meantime, the Geneva singer continues her journey on The Voice, with the quarter-finals scheduled for Friday, May 15.
