The United States only need “two more weeks” to reach all their targets in Iran, assured Donald Trump in an interview recorded earlier in the week and broadcast on Sunday.
Questioned by independent journalist Sharyl Attkisson, the American president also said that the Iranians were “defeated militarily”, and took the opportunity to once again mock his NATO allies by calling the alliance a “paper tiger.”
The publication of this interview comes as Iran announced on Sunday that they had responded to the latest American proposal to end the conflict sparked by Israel and the United States on February 28.
“They are defeated militarily (…) perhaps they do not realize it, but I think they know,” assured Donald Trump to the journalist. And he added: “that does not mean they have had the last word.”
He hinted that the American army could “stay in place for two more weeks and strike all targets. We had some targets in sight, and we have probably hit 70% of them, but there are others we could still hit (…) it would just be the finishing touch,” he declared.
He also commented on NATO, once again comparing it to a “paper tiger,” complaining that his allies had not been “there to help.”
