Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt announced on social media Thursday the birth of her second child, a baby girl named Viviana, born on May 1st. “She is perfect and in good health,” said Karoline Leavitt, who was already a mother to a little boy in August 2024. The message is accompanied by a photograph of the spokesperson holding her baby close to her, in a room decorated in shades of pink.
Karoline Leavitt, who had her last press briefing on April 27th, did not specify how long her maternity leave would be or who would formally replace her. At 28 years old, she is the youngest person ever appointed as the “Press Secretary” at the White House. In her absence, other government representatives are expected to occasionally conduct the traditional press conferences at the White House.
