The director of the FBI, Kash Patel, stated that he will collaborate with other local and federal law enforcement agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service, to draw lessons from the incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. “This incident deserves a thorough examination, as it could have cost the lives of dozens, if not hundreds of people, without the quick response from our law enforcement,” Kash Patel declared on Fox News.
“We will discuss measures to enhance security, not only for this event, but also for all future events,” added the FBI director. “We will learn from this situation.” Kash Patel declined to answer questions about the suspected shooter, before his scheduled appearance later in the day. “We will be able to present to the world, in less than 36 hours, exactly what happened,” he promised.
