“It looks very good for reaching an agreement with Iran, and it will be a good agreement, an agreement without nuclear weapons,” said Mr. Trump to journalists at the White House. “We have many points of agreement with Iran.”

“Iran wants to reach an agreement and we are dealing very well with them. We must ensure that there are no nuclear weapons… it is a major factor,” he added, stating that Tehran is now willing to do things today that it refused just two months ago.

Furthermore, Mr. Trump dismissed reports of a 20-year American timeline to suspend Iran’s uranium enrichment.

“We have a very strong statement that they will not have nuclear weapons beyond 20 years,” he declared, adding that “there is no 20-year limit.”

He also claimed that Tehran had “agreed to return to us the nuclear dust buried deep because of the attack we conducted with B-2 bombers,” referring to Iranian enriched uranium.

On Wednesday, April 15, Mr. Trump had stated that the conflict was “very close to its end.”
