Trump ‘50/50′ over whether to resume bombing in Iran as he reveals deadline for decision: report

President Trump said Saturday he is “50/50†on whether the U.S. will resume bombing Iran, revealing he expects to make a final decision by Sunday.

“I think one of two things will happen: either I hit them harder than they have ever been hit, or we are going to sign a deal that is good,†Trump told Axios on Saturday.

The president said he, along with Vice President JD Vance, planned to meet with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner later Saturday to discuss Iran’s latest proposal.

Trump described the situation as a “solid 50/50†– saying he could either secure a “good†agreement with Tehran or “blow them to kingdom come.â€

Under the proposed outline, which evolved from the latest peace talks between Iran and Pakistan, the U.S. and Iran would agree to halt military action and enter into a 30-day period of more detailed negotiations aimed at reaching a broader agreement.

“I will only â sign a deal where we get everything we â want,” Trump was quoted as ‌saying. Iran, the United States and mediator Pakistan all said on Saturday that progress had been ‌made in talks on ending ‌almost three months of war.

Trump said he would discuss the latest Iran draft agreement with advisers on Saturday and â might make a decision on whether to resume the war by Sunday, he told Axios in a separate interview.

“Either we reach a good deal or I’ll blow them to a thousand hells,” Trump said, according to Axios.

Iran says Hormuz plan should be agreed with coastal states, not US

Iran said on Saturday that any mechanism concerning the Strait of Hormuz should be agreed between Iran, Oman and the countries bordering the waterway, and that the United States “has nothing to do†with it.

Foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei also said Iran was focused on finalising a memorandum of understanding through Pakistani-mediated talks between Tehran and Washington, according to Iran’s state media.

France bans Ben-Gvir over flotilla video

France has banned Israel’s far-right Israeli police minister Itamar Ben-Gvir from French territory, foreign minister Jean-Noel Barrot said.

The decision reflected growing anger among many governments over the treatment of Gaza flotilla activists this week.

“As from today, Itamar Ben-Gvir is banned from entering French territory,†wrote Barrot on X.

“Along with my Italian counterpart, I am asking the European Union to also take sanctions against Itamar Ben-Gvir,†he added.

Western governments have voiced outrage after Ben-Gvir posted a video of himself taunting Gaza-bound flotilla activists being pinned to the ground, with some of them later alleging they were physically an sexually assaulted in detention.

US is not an honest party in negotiations, Iran says

Iran’s top negotiator has accused the US of not being an honest party in negotiations to end their war and insists Tehran will not compromise on its national rights.

Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf made the remarks to Pakistani army chief Asim Munir during talks in Tehran on Saturday.

Qalibaf said Iran would pursue its “legitimate rightsâ€, both on the battlefield and through diplomacy, but added that it could not trust “a party that has no honesty at allâ€, an allegation Iran has made several times before.

He said Iran’s armed forces had rebuilt their capabilities during the ceasefire and that, if the United States “foolishly restarts the warâ€, the consequences would be “more forceful and bitter†than at the start of the conflict.
