FDI, an operational and combat-ready frigate
The FDI frigate, selected by the Swedish Ministry of Defense, is a next-generation frigate, ready for combat and versatile, equipped with proven capabilities in all areas of warfare, particularly with powerful anti-air capabilities based on the ASTER system. The FDI is capable of facing current and emerging threats in the demanding seas of the High North and challenging environments such as the Baltic Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean. The frigate will provide the Swedish Royal Navy with extensive capabilities to support the country’s key role in naval operations with allies and NATO. The frigates will strengthen the Swedish naval forces and play a key role in protecting the country.
With two units already delivered to the French and Hellenic navies and a fully proven production line, the FDI meets Sweden’s requirements for rapid delivery, ensuring a strengthening of naval capabilities in a context where speed is crucial.
