American Vice President JD Vance stated on Tuesday, May 19th that “good progress” was being made in discussions with Iran, while emphasizing that Washington had its “finger on the trigger.”
He made these statements during a press conference at the White House, shortly after Donald Trump assured that he had hesitated Monday to order a massive attack on Iran.
The American president also said on Tuesday that he was giving “two or three days” to Tehran to reach an agreement.
“We are in a rather good position”
“There is good progress, but we will continue to work and in the end, either we will have an agreement or we will not,” said JD Vance, who is part of the negotiating team appointed by Donald Trump to try to end the conflict with Iran.
“We are in a rather good position, but there is a plan B, and the plan B is to restart military operations,” said the vice president, known for his reluctance to this war.
“We have our finger on the trigger. We do not want to take this path but the president is determined to do so and is able to do so if necessary,” he declared.
