The defense class of Jeanne-de-Lestonnac high school won the 2026 trophy for the most engaged defense class in Tarn-et-Garonne during the civic rally in Montauban.
The defense class of Jeanne-de-Lestonnac high school participated in the eighth Civic Rally organized in Montauban, at the Jacques-Chirac sports complex, under the theme of citizenship, commitment, and teamwork. The theme of the year was “Heal, rescue, serve”: care as a duty, courage as a legacy.
The class was divided into two teams: Lestonnac in force! (captain, Mathis Boebaert) and Lestonnac in cohesion! (captain, Zoey Levacher). Motivated and dynamic, both teams completed a great course with respect and punctuality in the workshops.
Upon the announcement of the results, the defense class of LEAP Lestonnac was called to the podium to receive the prize and trophy for the most engaged defense class at the departmental level of Tarn-et-Garonne for the year 2026. Throughout the school year, various actions (32 in total) allowed the jury to evaluate the commitment of the Aurochs of Lestonnac. Among the actions taken: creation of a motto, a logo, and a t-shirt; participation in patriotic ceremonies (November 11th and March 19th); immersion in a military unit; interventions of patriotic associations (Le Souvenir français, the Fnaca); welcoming a national and regional elected official; intervention of a historian (Father Passerat, president of the Historical and Archaeological Society of Tarn-et-Garonne); interventions by veterans (police and 31st engineering regiment); writing an article on the war memorial of 1870-71 in Beaumont-de-Lomagne for the “Lomagnol hardi”; cinema outing; first aid training; training in flag-bearers with Onac and Le Souvenir français; writing biographies of historical figures from the department and much more.
The students returned particularly proud of this recognition for their work. They honor their school with dignity and are warmly congratulated.
