Conferences and round tables held over two days will revolve around a central theme: does Freemasonry have a future? For its second edition – the first took place in June 2024 –, the book and Masonic culture fair, Masonica Tours, will take place on June 6 and 7, 2026 at the Mame premises, the city of creation and innovation in Tours.

“This 2026 edition will examine the place of initiation, spirituality, and symbolic thought in the contemporary world,” said a statement, also proposing a “common thread dedicated to the relevance of Freemasonry in the 21st century, while shedding light on its historical and traditional foundations. Masonica Tours aims to promote the richness of Masonic publishing by offering authors and publishers spaces for meetings, exhibitions, and sales. More than thirty authors will be present throughout the weekend to interact with the public and sign their books.”

Nine books competing for a literary prize

For this second edition, a new literary prize will be awarded. Nine books have been selected. The prize “will distinguish a French-language work that highlights, through its literary quality and humanist, spiritual, or symbolic significance, the major values of Masonic tradition: quest for meaning, freedom of conscience, human dignity, brotherhood, critical thinking, and a demand for truth.”
