If you follow “Mask Singer” and “The Voice”, there’s a change this week. The new stage of “The Voice” will be broadcast this Friday evening. Why? We’ll explain.
TF1 is shaking up its viewers’ habits this week. Blame it on… the Eurovision. The European song contest is actually broadcast on a rival channel, France 2, on Saturday at 9 p.m. And it’s a guaranteed audience success. 5.28 million people watched Eurovision last year, with a market share of 40%. The year before, Eurovision attracted 5.4 million viewers.
For this reason, TF1 preferred not to expose “The Voice” in direct competition with the Eurovision, even though the channel did not provide an official explanation. The show will be broadcast this Friday evening instead of “Mask Singer”. Camille Combal’s show is not rescheduled to a different time slot, as it is simply absent from the program schedule. It will return to the air next Friday.
In “The Voice” this Friday evening, the contestants will face a new stage in the show’s history: the “Performances”. Fifteen contestants will have carte blanche to impress their coach, Florent Pagny, Amel Bent, Lara Fabian, or Tayc. Choice of song, choreography, set… they will have complete freedom.
M6 made a similar choice by moving the final of the game “Les Témoins” to Thursday, May 14. Actor Issa Doumbia and TV host Adriana Karembeu took home the victory.
Against Eurovision on Saturday night, TF1 chose to rebroadcast an episode of the “Grand concours” hosted by Arthur. Many guests will answer general knowledge questions in a humorous atmosphere: Az, Patrick Chanfray, Laurie Cholewa, Sophie Davant, Roman Doduik, Agustin Galiana, Anne-Sophie Girard, Gus, Marianne James, Frank Leboeuf, Jean-Luc Lemoine, Caroline Margeridon, Laurie Peret, Yoann Riou, Anne Roumanoff, Tareek, Sylvie Tellier, Titoff, and Julia Vignali.
Context: Eurovision is a popular European song contest that attracts millions of viewers every year. Fact Check: The information provided about the scheduling changes for “The Voice” and other TV shows is accurate based on the content.
