On Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 8:00 pm in the Louis-Aragon hall and at the invitation of the cultural and contemporary art association, the Imaginary Travel Agency presents William Shakespeare’s masterpiece, Romeo and Juliet, in a scenography more vibrant than ever!
There are stories that we think we know by heart. Names that cross centuries like a promise of absolute. Romeo and Juliet are part of that. And yet, they might surprise you.
Invited by the ACAC, Cultural Association of Saint-Florent, the Imaginary Travel Agency proposes with “The Love of Romeo and Juliet” a unique, lively, and daring theatrical journey. Here, there are no dusty museums or tragedies set in stone. The text breathes, circulates, and sneaks between bodies and silences.
A discussion with the artists will follow the performance.
On stage, Valérie Bournet and Pêpita Car carry the words with energy and mischief. Philippe Car’s staging, inventive and resolutely eccentric, gives the Shakespearean monument an unexpected rejuvenation. The chosen tirades resonate differently, highlighted by a baroque universe, colorful characters, and that touch of tender irony that shifts the classic towards the timeless.
In 1 hour and 15 minutes, accessible from 8 years old, the show invites to rediscover as much as to feel. Because behind the mythical love story, there is the passion, the momentum, the fragility, the urgency to live, so many emotions that find a particular echo in the intimacy of a human-sized room.
And when the curtain falls, the evening will not end. The ACAC extends the experience with a discussion with the artists. A privileged moment to question creation, share impressions, enter the backstage of the imaginary. The discussion will continue around meal trays (by reservation), in a friendly atmosphere that is the signature of local cultural events.
In a time when everything is consumed very quickly, this proposal is like a pause. An invitation to sit down, listen, vibrate together. Romeo and Juliet will not just be a story told, they will be an encounter.
