Michaël Youn and his partner Isabelle Funaro were the victims of a home-jacking at their home in Eygalières, near Aix-en-Provence, in Bouches-du-Rhône, on the morning of Monday, May 11. The couple’s two children, aged 14 and 7, were also present at the time of the incident. Following the armed robbery, the actor reacted on the social network X. “Everything is fine, thank you. Seeing children and chocolate madeleines in a kitchen coexisting with masked guys and German shepherds celebrating with them could almost make me laugh under other circumstances,” he first wrote.

“It could have ended so badly that I am honestly relieved today. I almost offered them to come back for a Uno game as a family. No, actually,” added the 52-year-old comedian, with a hint of humor. He also indicated that there was “no physical violence, only an armed threat (a rifle, that’s not bad).” “The amount of the robbery is much lower,” the comedian also mentioned, without providing further details. The value of the loot had been estimated at around €100,000 the day before, as reported by Le Parisien.

“The children are doing well”

On Monday, one of the robbers “pointed a gun” at the couple’s daughter with “a long weapon.” The two criminals forced the victims to take them to the safe and open it, then they stole jewelry, luxury watches, and cash. “The children are fine,” Michaël Youn reassured on X on Tuesday. An investigation has been opened and entrusted to the Banditry Suppression Brigade to try to find the two individuals, who fled on a motorcycle.
