For all tastes
This year, to preside over the jury, the meeting has invited Cartouche to the meeting: “He is in the middle of preparing his new show, ‘Behind the ball'”, emphasizes Tony Feijo, not ruling out that the people of Villeneuve may have the privilege of seeing some excerpts. This former classical dancer has already performed eight one-man shows, some of which directed by Marie-Claude Pietragalla or Kad and Olivier.
As for the candidates, the team of the Comedy Festival has scoured cafes, theaters, festivals, or comedy clubs throughout France to find six talents, including two women, “with the concern of choosing humorous universes different from each other,” Tony Feijoo explains.
Thus, festival-goers will be able to discover the unique personality of Angie Degrolard, already a winner of many comedy awards; the Tex Avery universe of Basclo, a rising star discovered at a Good Vibes Comedy club in Villeneuve; David Semmana, with a more family-friendly humor where the hamster has its rightful place; the dean of the group, Mickaël Louchat; the crazy energy of Simon Noëms; and finally, the discovery from Avignon in the person of Noémie Bousquainaud.
Tribute to Bruno Salomone
The Comedy Festival paid tribute to the memory of Bruno Salomone, who passed away on March 15th, at the age of 56. They are preparing a tribute to the one who started his career on the Georges-Leygues stage, a contestant in the competition: “It was in 1998. At the time, he was a member of Nous c nous, alongside Jean Dujardin,” remembers André Delas, in charge of the Festival’s programming. He had won the jury prize. It was the first time he had won a comedy contest.”
Subsequently, Bruno Salomone remained faithful to Villeneuve-sur-Lot, returning in 2003 with his show “Anyone can be a guinea pig,” which made him popular with the audience. “Then, many times, we welcomed him as a visitor, with his dog,” continues André Delas. “We never lost contact.”
