Vietnamia will gather around 50 volunteers and 20 cultural actors for two days at the Bellegrave sports hall in Pessac to showcase Vietnamese arts and traditions to the general public, free of charge.

The first festival of Vietnamese culture in Bordeaux will take place on Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17. The festival will include a diverse program featuring martial arts, dance, music, and crafts. Activities will range from Vovinam Viet Vo Dao demonstrations to exhibitions, culinary and language workshops, conferences, screenings, and artistic performances.

A highlight of the weekend will be the unique show “Le Maître des pensées” on Saturday night, combining urban dance, movement arts, and martial arts in a visual and poetic creation exploring the connection between body and mind.

This event is part of a strong local history supported by associations dedicated to promoting Vietnamese culture in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The festival coincides with the celebration of the Vovinam Foundation, a martial art established in 1938 and widely practiced in France, highlighting a discipline that is seeing significant growth with over 20 clubs in the region.
