The Sorgue Festival returns for a spring edition this Saturday 2 and Sunday, May 3. The program includes cycling tours, concerts, and many other activities around the river.

Since 2024, the Sorgue Festival has been held twice a year, in spring and autumn. For this new spring edition, the festival committees of Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne, Le Thor, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, the towns of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and Saumane-de-Vaucluse, Isle sur la Sorgue Tourism, and their partners have put together a rich program.

Whether with family or friends, this event aims to be a moment of sharing and also raises awareness about the proper respect for this emblematic river of Vaucluse, which runs through many municipalities in the department. Activities in various towns will be linked, much like a walk along the Sorgue river.

The weekend will start in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, where a village will be set up at the waters’ edge where the public can enjoy wooden games, mini golf, a treasure hunt, a fishing simulator, and workshops organized by the Mixed Syndicate of the Sorgues Basin and the Sorgues Monts de Vaucluse community of municipalities. There will also be several activities requiring registration such as a cycling tour, a 3km jog, an introduction to yoga or tai chi. An aperitif will be provided by the town, and the Municipal Music School will take care of the musical entertainment.

In the afternoon, there will be a meeting in Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne, where the Place du Félibrige will host a treasure hunt and activities around the washhouse and the canal. A snack will be provided by the town’s festival committee.

The day will conclude in Le Thor with a musical aperitif, followed by the show ‘The Greatest Classics of Cinema’ at the 8th and 11th November squares.

On Sunday, May 3, the second day of the festival will commence at the Town Hall square of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse where breakfast will be served. The program includes a blind tasting of Sorgue water, landscape reading hikes, an escape game in the village, and a guided tour of the François Pétrarque Museum Library.

At noon, head to Saumane-de-Vaucluse, which will conclude the event with a garden party concert, awareness-raising activities around the Sorgue, and numerous workshops reserved for children.
