In an Instagram post, the rapper announced her last performance in the Broadway show “Moulin Rouge” will be on May 1, which is about two weeks earlier than planned.

Megan Thee Stallion made her Broadway debut last month, playing a genderbent version of Zidler from Baz Luhrmann’s film “Moulin Rouge!” The musical has won 10 Tony Awards.

She expressed her gratitude for being part of the “Moulin Rouge” family and thanked the cast and crew for their hard work and dedication. The rapper did not provide a reason for her early departure from the show.

The 31-year-old rapper debuted as Zidler on March 24, a role originally played by English actor Jim Broadbent in the 2001 film. After feeling sick during a performance at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York on March 31, she was taken to the hospital but returned to the show a few days later. Megan Thee Stallion described the incident as a wake-up call, realizing she had been pushing herself too hard and needed to take care of her body.
