The negotiations are ongoing between Americans and Iranians around the Strait of Hormuz. Discussions are tense as both countries claim to have regained control of the area after several ship seizures in recent days. Donald Trump has decided to send a third aircraft carrier to the area.

In the Strait of Hormuz, it is a war of position and communication. Iran is inside, while the Americans are outside. Both countries claim to control it, but Donald Trump is increasing pressure by announcing the deployment of a third aircraft carrier, the George W. Bush. The goal is to suffocate the regime of the mullahs economically.

The president insists he has all the time to negotiate a peace agreement: “Don’t rush me. We have total control of the strait. It will open when they have reached an agreement or when something very positive happens,” said Donald Trump on Thursday.

For its part, the Islamic Republic continues to block the strait, seize ships, and claim to charge a toll. “In a situation where our national security is threatened and we are under aggression from the United States and Israel, a coastal state like ours has the right to take measures to prevent potential enemy attacks,” said Esmail Baghaei, spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on television.

The truce is hanging by a thread. Both countries claim they can resume fighting. Israel, on the other hand, declares that it has its finger on the trigger and is ready to send Iran back to the Stone Age.
