EY and Trinity join forces to appoint Assistant Professor in Financial Services

Trinity College Dublin and EY Ireland are collaborating to create a new academic post of EY Assistant Professor in Financial Services. The cross-disciplinary role, the first of its kind between Trinity Business School and Trinity Law School, will be filled later in 2026 following an international recruitment process that is now underway. The collaboration, supported by a €1m philanthropic contribution from EY Ireland, aims to strengthen Ireland’s financial services ecosystem and regulatory infrastructure through academic research, enhanced teaching of the next generation of financial services talent, and deeper engagement between industry and higher education. This partnership comes at a time when emerging themes such as sustainable finance, digital regulation, and data-driven financial services are reshaping the financial services landscape.
The agreement also includes support for the EY Trinity Business Student of the Year Award, which will recognize emerging talent within the student community across societies, sport, entrepreneurship, and community initiatives.
Trinity Provost Dr. Linda Doyle stated, “The creation of this new role will strengthen Trinity’s teaching and research profile in financial services at a time of significant change in this complex landscape. It is important that academia and industry work together to generate independent thought leadership, provide students with real-world learning opportunities, and influence the evolution of financial services innovation, regulation, and policy. I want to thank EY Ireland for their far-sighted and generous philanthropic support.”
