Residents in Wilmette can access free mulch at the Centennial Recreation Complex, provided by the Village of Wilmette and Wilmette Park District. The mulch, made from chipped trees and woody material, is available to the public through Memorial Day. Individuals can fill their own bags with mulch from the designated site, but the park district notes that it may not be pesticide/herbicide-free or free of weed seed. For more information, residents can contact Sustainability Coordinator Lucy Mellen at sustainability@wilmette.com.
