(Toronto) Former Republican strategist Steve Schmidt is now one of the most fierce opponents of Donald Trump in the United States. Donald Trump is “in a politically irreparable situation,” and Republicans will not only lose the House of Representatives but also the Senate in the upcoming mid-November elections, according to Schmidt, the former Republican strategist turned fiercest anti-Trump voice.

Reflecting on Trump’s trajectory, Schmidt expressed concerns about his plummeting approval ratings and predicted his downfall. Schmidt, a co-founder of the Lincoln Project, had actively campaigned against Trump in 2020 and had foresighted Biden’s potential failure to secure a second term.

Two years later, Schmidt maintained his critical stance on Trump, highlighting the rampant corruption and lack of integrity in his administration. Despite some Republican officials challenging White House policies, Schmidt emphasized the party’s entrenchment behind Trump.

When asked about the midterm elections, nobody dares to tell Trump, “We’re going to get our behinds kicked,”

Schmidt warned of the dire consequences of the Republican Party’s loyalty to Trump and its descent into acquiescence, emphasizing the lack of dissent within the party.

He noted that the history books will not look favorably upon the 47th president, predicting universal shame over supporting Trump in the future.

The New Generation of Democrats

Schmidt highlighted the need to pay attention to the younger generation of Democrats, citing figures like Andy Beshear, Mark Kelly, and Jon Ossoff as potential strong candidates for future Democratic leadership.

Reflecting on the crisis facing the country, Schmidt expressed hope for a return to political harmony and unity in the future.
