N’Golo Kanté in pole position for the 2026 World Cup
N’Golo Kanté is still in the running to be included in Didier Deschamps’ list for the 2026 World Cup. The French team midfielder would be well placed in the coach’s hierarchy, ahead of profiles like Eduardo Camavinga. He could therefore be selected among the midfielders called up for the World Cup, alongside players like Aurélien Tchouaméni, Warren Zaire-Emery, Adrien Rabiot, and Manu Konaté, in a particularly competitive sector.
Consultant for Téléfoot and coach of Girondins de Bordeaux, Rio Mavuba has sent a clear message to Didier Deschamps regarding the 2018 World Champion. He stated: “When you have a World Champion like N’Golo Kanté who accepts being on the bench, I think all those behind him have nothing to say. You have to accept everyone’s roles, that’s what gives strength to a group to go far in a major competition. Kanté is exemplary. He must be on that list.” A strong endorsement for the French midfielder, who is always seen as a key element within the French squad.
