Just like last year's event, which attracted more than 3,000 visitors, attendees can expect a broad array of activities by STEAM practitioners from across the state who will share about what they do through “fun activities suitable for all ages,†organizers said.

The event is expected to feature more than 130 presenters along with 30 booths both inside and outside the library.

Booths will offer attendees the chance to learn about “the marvels of microscopic organisms to the exploration of Kansas's native fish and theintriguing world of biophysics,†organizers said.

Other highlights will include face-painting as well as appearances by Mad Science of Kansas City; the Veggie Meter; Poet in a Box; A & H Farm's petting zoo; the Johnson Cancer Research Center; and Anesthesia Associates' simulated operating room

The bingo card will be back, designed to enhance the experience by guiding visitors through a selection of activities and providing them with an opportunity to win prizes.

“Our ability to arrange such a diverse range of events has been made possible through the kind contributions of individuals and organizations within our communitiesâ€, says Alina De La Mota-Peynado, president of the Kansas Science Festival. “We are especially thankful for the numerous STEAM practitioners dedicating their time to highlight the incredible variety of methods Kansans use to understand and learn about the world around us, as well as for the event sponsors who have provided resources to facilitate these events.â€

Other event sponsors include the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation; the Manhattan Public Library; and Sunset Zoo.
