On April 14th, the winner of the raffle organized to benefit Alzheimer’s disease research will be drawn, with a chance to win a Picasso painting valued at one million euros.

A lucky winner will walk away on Tuesday, April 14th with a Picasso painting estimated at one million euros. The artwork, a gouache on paper measuring 38.9 cm by 25.4 cm titled “Head of a Woman,” is the grand prize of the raffle in support of the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.

The drawing will take place on April 14, 2026, at 6 p.m., at Christie’s Paris, under the supervision of a bailiff.

120,000 tickets priced at 100 euros each were available online for this international raffle, aiming to allow the sole winner to become the owner of this portrait of Dora Maar, one of Picasso’s muses, painted by the artist in 1941.

An “exceptional piece of art”

Authenticated by the Picasso estate and the Picasso administration, this “exceptional piece of art” has many qualities and was created during World War II by my grandfather, during a not so happy daily period,” highlighted Olivier Picasso, the painter’s grandson, at the launch of the operation in December 2025.

The expected funds, 12 million euros, will benefit the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation for its scientific programs in France and abroad, for European, American, and Canadian teams. Each ticket gives a chance to win, while supporting scientific research.

“The funds collected through the solidarity lottery will help finance the strengthening of existing expert centers in France, each linked to centers in Europe, in order to promote a virtuous dynamic by challenging the best teams,” the Foundation specifies on its website.
