The BCTM bowed 63-51 on Saturday night against Montbrison in the second match of the Ligue 2 final. The two teams will compete for the title on Sunday in a decisive finale.
The title has not yet been awarded in the Women’s Ligue 2. In a favorable position after their victory in the first round in Loire, La Tronche-Meylan failed to capitalize on Friday night, losing on their court 63-51.
The Dauphinoises seemed overwhelmed from the start of the game, and even though they initially relied on Aurore Pautou, who scored the first 8 points for BCTM, Clément Sanchez’s players found themselves behind 21-17 at the end of the first quarter. The gap widened in the second period, and La Tronche-Meylan trailed by 15 points at halftime (41-26).
Stay tuned for the decisive match on Sunday!
After halftime, BCTM showed a different side. Much more aggressive on defense, the team’s DNA, the “warriors,” completely turned the game around, trailing by only 6 points (49-43) after a third quarter (17-8) that ignited the 1200 spectators at the Charlaix gymnasium.
But in the last 10 minutes, Montbrison tightened up and did not let the Iséroises come back, winning 63-51. Now with the two teams tied, they will meet for the decisive match on Sunday at 3:30 pm in Meylan. This final is far from over.
