Women’s sport is progressing. Its visibility is increasing, as are the discussions. However, without a solid economic model, high-level sports remain fragile.

In Quint-Fonsegrives and Balma, Volley Balma Quint-Fonsegrives (VBQF) experiences this every week. The club is now among the top 20 women’s teams in France, with one team competing in the Women’s Elite, the second national division, a rarity in the Southwest.

It’s a demanding championship, where professional and semi-professional structures coexist. In the midst of these, VBQF moves forward with its own means.

The players here are not professionals. They work or study while training several times a week. Their commitment is total to maintain a high level of performance.

Behind this team is a club. With over 350 members, teams competing up to the national level, and a recognized training DNA, VBQF is deeply embedded in the local sports scene.

The youth results, especially in the Coupe de France, confirm the consistency of the project.

To take the next step, financial structuring is essential. This requires appropriate resources, as well as training, accommodation, and preparation conditions that are still below high-level standards.

The club is carrying out “Ambition 2030”, with a clear goal: gradually align its resources with its sporting level.

This development also involves engaging with the local economic fabric. Through the VBQF Business Family, a business club of VBQF, the club brings companies together around a common project.

The question is simple: do we really want to advance women’s sports, or just talk about it? At VBQF, the choice is clear. The remaining question is who, in the region, will decide to be part of it.
