At the end of Ligue 1, the names of the clubs qualified for the Champions League and Europa League, as well as the name of the relegation playoff team, are now known.
Lille in the Champions League, Lyon in the preliminary round
LOS and Lyon both suffered defeats on Sunday, against Auxerre (0-2) and Lens (0-4) respectively, but they fulfilled their mission this season. Lille will return to the Champions League thanks to Rennes’ defeat against Marseille. Lyon finishes 4th, although they were soundly beaten by Lens at home, at Groupama Stadium (0-4).
OM in the Europa League
With a victory against Rennes (3-1), Marseille leveled with the Bretons and qualified for the Europa League due to a better goal difference.
Nice, the unfortunate playoff team, will face Saint-Étienne
Unable to beat Metz, despite them being at the bottom of the table and relegated (0-0), Nice saw Auxerre and Le Havre move ahead of them. AJA defeated Lille (0-2) while HAC did the same against Lorient (0-2).
