On Sunday, May 17th, Rodez (Fédérale 2) and Lévézou Ségala (Fédérale 3) were in action.
Rodez’s hopes of promotion came to an end. After a controlled performance in the first leg of the round of 16 at home (26-6, with a bonus point), the Ruthénois traveled to Léguevin on Sunday with a strong chance of qualifying. However, despite their comfortable position, the margin was not enough. Due to a disastrous start, the team in red and gold suffered a defeat by the same score they had inflicted on their opponents from Haute-Garonne a week prior. The hosts scored four tries in this second leg, compared to three for the Aveyronnais in the first leg.
The day before, Millau was also narrowly eliminated, on the field of Bièvre Saint-Geoirs (20-6, even though SOM had a 12-point lead after the first leg).
LSA takes the advantage, but misses out on the bonus
In the first leg of the round of 16 of Fédérale 3, a stage that awards a ticket to Fédérale 2 for the winner, Lévézou Ségala took an advantage over their opponent Barcus-Menditte, winning 31-25 a week before heading to the Basque Country. The only downside was that the visitors secured the bonus point. Eric Viarouge’s team will have a tough task ahead of them next Sunday.
