Bordeaux will have to wait a little longer. The Girondins were counting on a favorable scenario with a victory and especially the distance defeat of La Roche-sur-Yon to validate the promotion to League 3 (the new name for the National). But the Bordelais, who held the lead for a long time, ultimately drew against US Avranches (3-3) this Saturday evening, on the last day of National 2.

A small chance… administrative

At the same time, the Vendéens did their job by winning 2-0 against Locminé. So it is indeed La Roche that finishes at the top of group A and is therefore promoted to the higher level. To still hope to move up to the third division, Bordeaux will rely on administrative decisions.

Being the second-best of the three groups in N2, behind Bourges in group B, they will be promoted in the event of three administrative relegates of National clubs that are facing financial difficulties or refusing to switch to professional status.

In group C, AS Cannes secures promotion to League 3. The Cannois defeated St-Maur Lusitanos 2-0 to finish ahead of Nîmes and their opponent of the evening. In group B, everything was already settled with the promotion for Thionville, which was secured several weeks ago.
