New reward for designer Iris van Herpen. This fall, the Dutch couturier and pioneer will receive the European Culture Award, as announced by the European Cultural Forum, the event’s organizer, in a press release.

“Iris van Herpen embodies Europe’s spirit of innovation in a unique way,” said Reiner Schränkler, president of the European Cultural Forum, in the press release. “Her work combines art, craftsmanship, science, and visions of the future at the highest level. She has revolutionized the international fashion world while creating an entirely new visual language. The current exhibition in New York (USA) impressively underscores her global importance.” The exhibition in New York is titled “Sculpting Senses,” which has already been presented in Paris and Rotterdam (Netherlands).

Van Herpen will receive the award on September 4 at the royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam (Netherlands). She joins a list of renowned creators, including Karl Lagerfeld and Vivienne Westwood, who have already received the European Culture Award.

The Dutch designer has already won several awards. She notably won the first Perrier-Jouët Design for Nature Award in 2025, the Grand Seigneur, the Mode Stipendium, and the Johannes Vermeer Prize. She has also received an Andam Award and has won the Dutch Design Award multiple times.
