To make matters worse, by winning the match, Barcelona has now been crowned Spanish champions, definitively crushing Real Madrid’s slim hopes of winning a trophy this season.

Everyone plays as they want, everyone does what they feel like, and no one is there to have their teammate’s back,” lamented Samuel Umtiti in the After Foot following the Liga clash. “In this team, it’s not working. Choices will have to be made and things need to change because they can’t afford to have two trophyless seasons in a row, which is not normal for a team like Real Madrid,” said the consultant and former Barcelona defender.
“There is a foundation to rebuild,” added Umtiti. Since last Thursday, the Spanish press has been in an uproar about the atmosphere within the Madridista locker room after a leak about an altercation between Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde. “I don’t personally know Aurélien, but I know he is very calm. We know that a lot happens in a locker room, and that’s normal. But normally all this stays in the locker room,” lamented Samuel Umtiti on the After Foot. “They have lost their way in the game, there is a foundation to rebuild,” concluded the former French national team defender.
Both players issued statements a day apart to explain the situation and put an end to rumors of a fight between them. Real Madrid did not impose any sporting sanctions on them, with Aurélien Tchouaméni starting in the Clasico on Sunday, but both players were fined a hefty sum of 500,000 euros each.
