In the aftermath, visitors responded to a free-kick. Bencheikh found Taha, who alerted Baba Sylla, but the striker missed his acrobatic move.
Soyaux finally opened the score in the 14th minute. Dalil Bouazza was irregularly stopped in the area and the referee rightly awarded a penalty. Sylla converted without hesitation to give Soyaux the lead (0-1, 14th minute).
However, FCC quickly responded. Ten minutes later, a quickly taken throw-in found Fougeroux, who beat Branchereau-Ferrère up close to level the teams (1-1, 24th minute).
Before the break, the hosts had another good chance after an exchange between Fougeroux and Dekkiche, but Meillac made a perfect save. Soyaux also finished strong in the first half, but without success for Bouazza and Amarouche.
At halftime, the two teams left on equal terms (1-1), after a fiercely contested first half in midfield.
But upon returning from the break, AS Soyaux picked up the pace. Bouazza provided a good pass for Sylla who first faced M’Kadara before doubling the lead two minutes later. Taking advantage of a deep ball, he outpaced the local goalkeeper to make it 1-2 in the 48th minute.
FCC tried to respond, especially through Dekkiche, who seized an opportunity after a mistake by Meillac, but Branchereau-Ferrère, helped by his defense, preserved the visitor’s advantage.
Then Soyaux continued to dominate. Around the hour mark, Wissem Bouazza launched a splendid shot from nearly 30 meters out under the bar after a poorly cleared corner (1-3, 60th minute). Assisted by his cousin Dalil, he scored a second goal with a subtle outside-foot finish (1-4).
Rezzoum also joined the celebration by concluding a nice team play for the fifth visitor’s goal. Despite some local chances, including a huge opportunity missed by Touré with a header at the far post, FCC could no longer worry Soyaux.
Dalil Bouazza added a sixth goal in the 77th minute after an exchange with Wissem Bouazza. Then the latter concluded his offensive festival in the final minutes. First in the 88th minute by winning his one-on-one with M’Kadara, before scoring his fourth personal goal just before the final whistle.
Thanks to this resounding victory (1-8), AS Soyaux secures their spot in the final of the Coupe de Charente, where they will face Confolens FC in a match between the first and second of D1.
Giovanni Tabtabi (FCC coach): “The dream is over, a very beautiful adventure that ends with a severe score. I think we dominated the first half, in the second we lacked the energy to compete. I’m missing two players to make interesting rotations. Congratulations to Soyaux. We will try to finish as high as possible in the championship. We have the means if the squad is complete.”
Giani Camus (Soyaux coach): “We had the ugliest first half of the season. The boys in front knew they had heart. We conceded a goal that is never normally conceded if we are focused. We had to get things straight at halftime. Now we will have a double confrontation with Confolens in the Cup and in the championship, we will see where we stand.”
