Colombian singer Shakira has been chosen to perform the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The song is called “Dai Dai” and a sneak peek has been revealed.
What would a World Cup be without Shakira? After “Waka Waka (This time for Africa)” in 2010, FIFA has once again chosen Shakira to sing the official song for the competition starting on June 11 in North America.
On Thursday evening, FIFA and Shakira shared a snippet of “Dai Dai” on social media. Surrounded by her dancers, Shakira performs on the pitch of Maracanã in Rio, Brazil, where she held a large free concert on May 2.
Shakira sings “Dai Dai” with Nigerian afrobeat, reggae, and hip-hop singer Burna Boy. The full song will be unveiled on May 14.
Fans can expect Shakira to sing “Dai Dai” at the opening and closing ceremonies of the tournament in June and July. It was noticed that her “Los Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour” North American tour dates in June coincided with the 2026 World Cup.
In 2010, Shakira was chosen to sing the official anthem with “Waka Waka (This time for Africa)”, which gained international success. In 2014, she also performed for the World Cup with “Dare (La La La)”, even though the official anthem was “We Are One (Ole Ola)” by Pitbull featuring Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte.
