In this 32nd day of Ligue 1, three matches were played simultaneously with various stakes at the stadiums. At Meinau, Strasbourg aimed for Europe against Toulouse, while Paris FC hosted Brest with the goal of approaching the top half of the table. Finally, at Abbé-Deschamps, Auxerre had a crucial match in the relegation race against Angers. The dynamics were different between ambitious Strasbourg, enterprising Parisians, and pressured Auxerre, while Toulouse and Brest tried to bounce back and Angers had nothing left to play for.

The first half provided entertainment on all three pitches. Strasbourg took the lead thanks to a superb curling shot by Amo-Ameyaw after a progressive buildup (27th), before being equalized by Toulouse with a nice finish by Methalie (42nd). On the Paris side, Paris FC quickly controlled the game with an opening goal by Matondo after a scramble in the box (13th), followed by a second goal by Geubbels on a quick counter-attack (20th). Brest was dominated in all aspects.

After the break, the dynamics were maintained even though the scenarios remained open. Strasbourg and Toulouse continued to trade blows with high intensity and several chances, including a save by Penders on a shot by Russell-Rowe (48th). In Paris, Brest tried to react with more attacking play, but the lack of precision in the final touch, like Labeau Lascary’s missed one-on-one (58th), prevented the Bretons from coming back against the solid Parisians. In Auxerre, the turning point came when De Percin saved a penalty from van den Boomen, maintaining his team’s advantage (51st). The rest of the matches were decisive. Auxerre doubled their lead with a superb move finished by Mara for his brace (61st), before Sinayoko extended the lead to almost seal the match (67th). In Strasbourg, the score remained undecided despite chances on both sides and a fast pace, with both teams neutralizing each other until Emersonn’s goal (84th) to secure victory for Toulouse (1-2) in Alsace.

In Auxerre, the hosts took the lead through Mara, seizing an opportunity after a first save (12th), in a first half controlled against ten-man Angers after Sbaâ’s expulsion just before halftime (45+1). Reduced to ten men, Angers even got a second penalty late in the game, converted by Koyalipou, but could not prevent a clear Auxerre victory (3-1). Already in front before the break thanks to Matondo and Geubbels, Parisians dominated after the break. Matondo scored a brace, and substitute Koleosho added another goal late in the game (89th). A controlled performance from start to finish for Antoine Kombouaré’s men, who were never troubled (4-0). These results allowed Auxerre to revamp the relegation battle by catching up to Nice, while Strasbourg remained in the race for Europe, and Paris FC approached the top half of the table as the season’s end drew near.

All results from the 32nd day’s multiplex:

  • Auxerre 3-1 Angers: Mara (12th, 67th), Sinayoko (61st) / Koyalipou (78th, pen.).
  • Paris FC 4-0 Brest: Matondo (13th, 67th), Geubbels (20th), Koleosho (89th).
  • Strasbourg 1-2 Toulouse: Amo-Ameyaw (27th) / Methalie (42nd), Emersonn (84th).
