On Saturday, FC Barcelona suffered but eventually beat Osasuna in Pamplona (1-2) thanks to goals from Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres late in the game. If Real Madrid does not win on Sunday against Espanyol, Barcelona will be crowned champions; otherwise, the title will have to wait for the Clásico next week.

Barcelona, with Frenkie de Jong coming on, and Osasuna had a first half with few chances. The Blaugranas had started well with a header from Lewandowski and a free kick from Dani Olmo that grazed the crossbar, but the pace then faded.

The Blaugranas kept possession without being threatening, their comfortable lead in the standings allowing them to control the game. Osasuna, well organized, held firm without suffering too much.

However, ten minutes before halftime, Osasuna responded through their top scorer Ante Budimir, whose shot hit the post.

More daring in the second half, Barcelona almost took the lead through Eric García, whose header towards Dani Olmo was cleared off the line by Alejandro Catena.

Hansi Flick then brought on Frenkie de Jong, Marcus Rashford, and Ferran Torres at the hour mark, but the trio did not immediately change the game. The level of play remained dull, and it was thanks to an intervention by Joan García that Barcelona avoided conceding the opening goal.

In the 81st minute, Rashford’s introduction paid off. The English forward took his time to adjust his cross from the left side. His perfectly weighted ball found Lewandowski’s head, who opened the scoring: 0-1.

Freed by this opening goal, the Blaugranas doubled their lead: Fèlix López launched Ferran through on goal, and the latter calmly lobbed the goalkeeper between his legs for 0-2.

Towards the end of the match, Raúl García pulled one back with a beautiful header from Abel Bretones’ cross, but Osasuna, still tenth, could not snatch the draw. On Sunday at 9:00 PM, Real Madrid will host Espanyol.
