On May 1, 2026, the Brittany league revealed its number of licensees for the 2025-2026 season. The region currently has 161,661 licensees, slightly fewer than the previous year. Despite this slight decrease, it reflects the dynamism of Brittany football, the commitment of clubs, volunteers, officials, coaches, and the passion of all licensees.
The only department in growth is Finistère, with a 0.3% increase and a total of 43,465 licensees. Ille-et-Vilaine remains the department with the most footballers, with 52,396 licensees (-0.8%). However, it also experienced a slight decrease, as did Côtes-d’Armor (30,635 licensees, -1.6%) and Morbihan (35,165, -1.3%).
In other notable figures, the league reveals that 17,521 of its licensees are female footballers, a stable number compared to the previous season. The league also has 1,720 referees (+0.8%) and 3,083 coaches (+10.8%) in its ranks.
Encouragingly, the surge in futsal continues, with the number of licensees reaching 3,890, a 24.3% increase since the 2024-2025 season.
