Six people killed in new Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon

Six people, including a child, have been killed in two Israeli strikes on a village in southern Lebanon, which the Israeli army had called to evacuate despite a ceasefire, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported.

According to a statement from the ministry, eight other people, including a child, were wounded in these strikes on Habboush, where the Lebanese state news agency (ANI) reported “a series of intense strikes (…) a little less than an hour after the Israeli warning.”

Donald Trump considers “two options” in Iran: a deal or “annihilating” Tehran

Donald Trump said he sees two options for the next steps in the Middle East conflict: finding a deal or “annihilating” Iran.

“From a human perspective, I would prefer not to annihilate them,” the American president added. “But we could go there and completely annihilate them, it’s possible. But we can also find another solution.”

“I am not satisfied”: Donald Trump rejects new Iran agreement proposal

Donald Trump says he is “not satisfied” with the new agreement proposal put forward by Iran.

Asked about a possible trip to Pakistan for negotiations, the American president assured that he has “a lot of respect for Islamabad but traveling takes a lot of time and we are doing our best to negotiate over the phone.”

“There have been advances, but I don’t think we’ll make it,” he continued. “There is a lot of disagreement and a lot of confusion among Iran’s leaders. They don’t agree and are completely lost.”

United States announces new sanctions against Iran

The U.S. government has imposed new sanctions on Iranian assets and warned ships paying the authorities in Tehran to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

The new sanctions include three money exchange houses, according to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, explaining that it aims to counter the conversion into local currency of yuan used by Chinese actors to settle Iranian oil.

The executive also issued a warning stating that ships paying a toll to secure passage through the Strait of Hormuz expose themselves to sanctions.
