The French Football Federation organized the 2026 edition of the Espoirs du Futsal competition this weekend at Clairefontaine. The event aims to identify future talents through a national detection and mentoring program. Soen Dos Santos Ferreira (US Thionville Lusitanos) and Morgan Grac (Toulon Metropole Futsal) were named as the winners for field players and goalkeepers, respectively.
The competition, which was launched last season by the FFF, brought together thirty-two U14-U15 boys on April 25 and 26 at the National Football Center in Clairefontaine, Yvelines. Following two half-days of technical, tactical, and athletic evaluations led by federal teams at the Michel-Muffat-Joly gymnasium, the winners of this new group were announced.
The candidates came from the thirteen regional leagues of mainland France and three overseas territories (Guadeloupe, Guyane, and Reunion). After going through four technical tests, an evaluation of the Federal Educational Program (PEF), a 3×3 tournament, and 5×5 futsal matches, the thirty-two participants were divided into two groups.
The Espoirs du Futsal program is an integral part of the strategy for developing futsal in France and is designed to support young talents in their progress in coordination with leagues, clubs, and federal structures. It serves as a step towards reaching the highest level, in addition to the Lyon-based Pôle France Futsal and national youth selections.
