Before seven years after leaving Bavaria where he played as a player between 2007 and 2019, Franck Ribéry, the former French international, is expected to return to the club of his heart as an assistant coach.

Eager to start coaching, the man with nine Bundesliga titles under his belt with Bayern could assist Dante, who is likely to take on the role of coach of the U23 team next season. According to Bild and Sky Sports Germany, Ribéry is very open to returning to work with the Brazilian defender, whom he played with from 2012 to 2015 in Munich.

Having obtained the UEFA “A” license since the end of 2024, the Frenchman is currently completing his coaching diplomas in Italy and hopes to earn his BEPF (Professional Football Coach Certificate) in June in order to coach at a high level. “Once I have all these certificates, I could potentially take charge of a youth team or become an assistant coach at a good club under the orders of a good coach,” he explained to Bayern media in mid-January.

It is worth noting that Ribéry already has some coaching experience, as he was an assistant coach at Salernitana, his last club, between 2022 and 2024.

On the other hand, Dante, who will retire from his playing career at the end of his tenth and final season at OGC Nice, has been heavily linked to the coaching position of the Bayern Munich U23 team by the local press for several weeks. The 42-year-old defender, who won the Champions League in 2013 in Bavaria, has never hidden his desire to return to Germany.
