Among the most anticipated pieces are scripts from the first and last episodes of Friends, signed by Matthew Perry himself and the entire cast. More personal items will also be up for auction, like his famous Batman watch purchased in Hong Kong, childhood mementos, career trophies, and several Banksy artworks. A photo album gifted by Jennifer Aniston to the series actors will also be part of the auction. The Matthew Perry Foundation, established after his death, will directly benefit from the proceeds. The foundation’s president, Lisa Kasteler Calio, highlights, “Matthew believed that addiction should be addressed with compassion and science, not with stigma and silence.” She further adds, “This is an additional way to ensure that no one has to fight this disease alone.”
Individuals convicted in connection with his death
Meanwhile, the American justice system continues to pursue proceedings regarding the circumstances of his death. Several individuals have already been convicted for their involvement in the ketamine trafficking that led to the tragedy. Among them, Jasveen Sangha, known as “the ketamine queen,” received a fifteen-year prison sentence. Erick Fleming, the intermediary who provided vials to the actor’s entourage, was also sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty. In court, he stated, “I am haunted by the mistakes I have made.” The investigation also implicated two doctors and the actor’s personal assistant, accused of facilitating access to injections in the weeks leading up to his death.
