Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of services, is set to receive the “Entertainment Personality of the Year” award at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. This prestigious event is held annually in Cannes and is a major gathering for the advertising, communication, and creative industries.
A prize for Eddy Cue
The 2026 edition of the festival will take place from June 22 to 26, and Eddy Cue will be in Cannes on the first day to deliver a speech. He will be joined by Jerry Bruckheimer, a prominent film producer who collaborated with Apple on the movie “F1.”
Simon Cook, the head of Cannes Lion, stated:
“Eddy Cue has consistently pushed the boundaries of entertainment and storytelling, creating platforms and experiences that have redefined how audiences engage with culture. Under his leadership, Apple has not only produced world-class content, but has also shaped the future of entertainment through innovation, creativity, and a steadfast commitment to quality. We are delighted to award Eddy the title of ‘Entertainment Personality of the Year 2026.'”
Last year, Eddy mentioned that Apple prioritizes quality over quantity, saying:
“We have always believed that art is integral to our identity. But we never thought we would venture into film or television production. We saw that the world was changing and that everyone seemed to prioritize quantity. We believed there was an opportunity for us if we truly focused on quality.”
Eddy Cue oversees Apple TV, the streaming service launched in 2019, which has seen several successful productions over the years. Notably, the film “CODA” won an Oscar for Best Picture.
