Flavie Flament accuses Patrick Bruel of rape

On May 15th, Flavie Flament spoke out on her Instagram account to announce that she had filed a complaint against Patrick Bruel for rape. The TV host quickly received support from several personalities including former Miss France, Valérie Bègue.
Flavie Flament accuses Patrick Bruel of raping her in 1991 when she was 16 years old. Many celebrities have quickly shown their support, such as Faustine Bollaert, Sonia Rolland, Laure Manaudou, Marie-Ange Casta, Sarah Mortensen, and Valérie Bègue. The former Miss France 2008 even shared a testimony in favor of the former host of “Télématin.”
The former beauty queen commented on an Instagram message of support to Flavie Flament, echoed by actress Andréa Bescond: “He was the head of the jury during my election. I saw him. I have absolutely no doubt. I believe all the women who have had the courage to speak up. And I encourage others.”

In December 8, 2007, Patrick Bruel presided over the jury of the Miss France 2008 pageant, which was won by Valérie Bègue. The rugby player Christophe Dominici, host Carole Rousseau, comedian Dominique Farrugia, actress Elisa Tovati, producer Orlando, and Alexandra Rosenfeld, Miss France 2006, were also part of the jury for the 78th edition of the beauty contest.
30 accusations and three complaints for sexual violence
Prior to this, Patrick Bruel has been accused by thirty women and faced three complaints for sexual violence in France and one in Belgium. While presumed innocent as the justice system does its work, Patrick Bruel released a statement on May 17 denying the allegations. He stated that his relationship with Flavie Flament was “neither violent, nor coercive, nor sneaky” and there was “neither rape, nor drugs.” More discreetly, celebrities like Sylvie Vartan and Claudio Capéo supported the artist by liking his post.
