Erling Haaland is set to make his big-screen debut by lending his voice to a character in the animated film ViQueens, scheduled for the end of 2026. The Manchester City star will portray a viking named… Haaland.
From the football pitch to the dubbing studio. This is what awaits Erling Haaland, announced to be part of the cast of the animated film ViQueens by Norwegian director Harald Zwart. And what better role for this Scandinavian colossus than that of a viking? According to The Hollywood Reporter, the character voiced by the Manchester City forward will even bear his name, Haaland. A role perfectly suited for the Norwegian.
“Erling has already become a true Viking icon worldwide: powerful, fearless, and deeply Norwegian,” praised the fellow director, as cited by the American media. “His integration into this universe brings unexpected energy and authenticity to the film, perfectly suited to this story.”
ViQueens is described by the American magazine as “an adventure comedy, set in a world of fearless warriors, icy fjords, and Silk Road mythology.” And the Manchester City star is not the only big name in the cast of the animated film. Alongside him, playing as “rebel vikings,” are British singer Rita Ora and actress Ella Purnell, known for her roles in shows like Arcane and Fallout.
While the production of the animated film is still ongoing, a release is planned for the very end of 2026, around the Christmas period.
