The first branch of CALI CLUB in Vietnam will officially open its doors in early May 2026 on the 5th floor of Vincom Mega Mall Thao Dien (Ho Chi Minh City). CALI CLUB was founded in July 2020 in South Korea based on a very concrete question: how to maintain children’s interest in physical activity in a world where screens are more attractive than anything else? While video games, YouTube, and TikTok create a constant sense of excitement and are easily addictive, most traditional physical activities struggle to maintain children’s interest in the long term. Instead of trying to keep children away from technology, CALI CLUB chooses to integrate technology into the physical activity experience itself.
Founded in 2020 by CEO Son Joohee, CALI CLUB is a model of a new generation of “K-Sportainment” from South Korea that combines physical activity, RFID technology, gamification, and social interaction experiences in a single entertainment space. At CALI CLUB, each game is associated with a real-time scoring system. Children don’t just play: they earn points, move up the rankings, take on challenges, and unlock rewards. Physical activity is thus transformed into a rewarding and useful experience that encourages them to come back.
CALI CLUB not only encourages children to “exercise more”, but also truly inspires them to come back to continue pushing their own limits. Vietnam is considered a favorable market for this strategy, as the young parent generation in big cities is increasingly willing to prioritize quality experiences over material goods. In parallel, the influence of Korean lifestyle on Vietnamese youth is growing significantly, from fashion and beauty to leisure and social experiences.
In Ho Chi Minh City, particularly in the Thao Dien neighborhood, which is home to many young families, the international community, and consumers, the demand for indoor spaces that are both upscale and original for children and young people is increasing. Although children and families remain at the core of the clientele, CALI CLUB is not designed as a traditional children’s playground. The concept targets teenagers, students, and young adults looking for indoor experiences that promote physical activity, social interactions, and entertainment, in line with lifestyle trends.
Activities such as interactive dancing, group physical games, point challenges, and social games are designed to be competitive, fun, and attractive enough to match the social media culture of today’s youth.
