Remiremont will launch a new festival dedicated to emotions in cinema in 2026The town of Remiremont is preparing to host a unique cultural event. From November 5th to 8th, 2026, the first edition of the Festival of Emotional Films will bring together movie lovers, cinema professionals, and the general public around a program entirely focused on the sensations and emotions that films provide.

An unprecedented event dedicated to the audience’s feelings

Carried by the association Passeurs d’Émotions, this new festival aims to celebrate works capable of deeply touching the audience. Comedies, dramas, thrillers, animated films, documentaries, and short films will make up a diverse selection, with a common goal: to provide a true emotional experience to the viewers.

The organizers aim to bring back collective sharing at the center of theater screenings, in a context where audiovisual content is increasingly watched individually.

In addition to the screenings, several events will animate these four days: meetings with film crews, discussions, masterclasses, and cultural activities.

Sophie-Marie Larrouy godmother of this first edition

Originally from the Vosges, Sophie-Marie Larrouy will actively participate in the event. The actress and podcaster will host the opening and closing ceremonies.

The organizers highlight her sensitive artistic universe and her attachment to the Vosges region, in perfect harmony with the spirit of the festival.

An identity strongly linked to the Vosges

Dubbed “The Spirit of the Fir Trees,” the festival asserts its local roots and its ambition to promote cinematic culture in the Vosges. Several screenings will also be organized in other municipalities in the region to connect with the residents.

The heart of the event will take place at the Cinema Majestic France.

Schools fully involved in the project

Visual education will play a significant role in this first edition. Over thirty schools will participate in workshops, educational sessions, and cinema-related meetings.

A short film competition will also be offered to students, from kindergarten to high school. The films created in this context will be screened during the festival.

A jury of young viewers will also award a specific prize.

Four distinctions to be awarded

The organization will rely on the commitment of about forty volunteers from the local cultural scene. Four awards will be presented at the end of the festival: the Jury Prize, the Audience Prize, the Young Jury Prize, and the Emmanuelle Riva Prize, in homage to Emmanuelle Riva.
