Sandrine Kiberlain has put everything on hold to dedicate herself to her sister Laurence
During an interview with Gala, Laurence Kiberlain talked about the total commitment of her sister Sandrine. “We have always had a clear, beautiful relationship, of total sincerity. What struck me was to see to what extent she, like my husband, put her life on hold for me,” explains the youngest sibling.
“Everything was put on hold to come to the hospital, bring me food, change my ideas, help me walk when I couldn’t move alone. They were my lifelines, literally,” tenderly confides Sandrine Kiberlain’s sister.
Invited to the C à vous show on March 18th, the actress explained her choice: “It’s common to become a lifeline for your sister when she has a health problem. I think in families, siblings, it’s common, well, I hope. It’s the least we can do and it’s normal: we can’t live normally anymore. We don’t have the same life,” said Sandrine Kiberlain before adding, according to Gala: “Our life really becomes just that. But I wasn’t the only lifeline. We were basically bumper guards, the boat was really well prepared to absorb the shocks.” Sweet words that testify to the unbreakable bond between the two sisters.
“The greatest sadness of my life”: the loss of her son, the tragedy of Laurence Kiberlain
In an interview with Gala, Laurence Kiberlain especially reflected on the greatest tragedy of her life: the loss of her son, who was only 10 days old. “The death of my little boy is undoubtedly the greatest sadness of my life. But I was lucky to have my daughter, his twin sister, (who has a motor handicap) who required all my energy,” she explains.
A close daughter who supported her in turn during the illness: “Perhaps the most disturbing thing was to find myself in a universe that I mainly knew through her. Suddenly, it was she who came to see me in this setting that I had so often accompanied her through. When she arrived, she was worried about me but was also very generous with words, time, and assistance,” confides Laurence Kiberlain. A valuable support for this mother that gave her the strength to fight.
