On April 30, 2026, the association “Culture et patrimoine dans nos villages” based in Saint-Pierre-de-Cernières, Eure, unveiled its cultural program for the 2026 season with a little surprise.
Five highlights are scheduled from May to October. Unusually, music and theater share the spotlight in the program.
“This year, it’s a particular choice but a deliberate choice to bring some novelty by including theater,” argues Claude Spohr, the president of the association. In addition to three concerts, spectators can also enjoy two theater plays in the program.
The opening event for the 2026 season will feature a concert of Basque songs on Sunday, May 3 at 3 pm in the church of Saint-Pierre-de-Cernières, promising a luxurious moment.
The president of the association, Claude Spohr, is looking forward to it. “We were very satisfied with the Corsican polyphonic concert last season, and we wanted to honor Basque singing this time,” explains the music lover.
These events are made possible by the new member of the association. Catherine Durand, who also serves as the mayor of Saint-Pierre-de-Cernières, remains positive about the upcoming season. Since 2022, there have been successful concerts without interruption, and the obligation is to offer quality events, according to Claude Spohr.
As the town awaits the new season, Catherine Durand hopes that the 125 seats in the church of Saint-Pierre-de-Cernières will be filled. The association can count on the support of the public service to continue its mission of promoting culture.
