She recounts experiencing a particularly dangerous childbirth during the birth of her son Milo. “I almost died giving birth to Milo,” she confesses. She adds, “We both almost died actually.” The situation rapidly turned critical at her home. Her placenta, she explains, “exploded in the house.” Faced with the emergency, the midwife reportedly told her that “in ten more minutes,” mother and child might not have survived. A dizzying moment that left a lasting mark on her family memory.
Urgently transported to the hospital, Sarah Poniatowski was unable to immediately meet her newborn son. This forced separation intensified the violence of the moment. “I met him after five days and they took me in an ambulance to see him,” she recalls with emotion. A peaceful separation after twenty-three years of love
